The Art of Letting Go - Pottery Retreat

Next Retreat Sunday 22nd March 2026 !

A day designed to help you slow down, create, and release.

The Art of Letting Go is a one-day pottery and wellness retreat in Barbados, thoughtfully curated to guide you through movement, mindfulness, and clay.

The day begins with a nourishing tropical breakfast, followed by gentle yoga, breathwork, and meditation to ground the body and quiet the mind. You’ll then be guided through an intuitive pottery experience using local Bajan clay, creating two hand-built vessels, one to keep, and one to let go.Reflective talks on emotional wellbeing and habit change invite deeper insight, while a Bajan-inspired Caribbean lunch offers rest and nourishment.

In the afternoon, you’ll take part in a guided release ritual, intentionally breaking one vessel as a physical act of letting go, before returning to mindful making and a closing circle by the sea.No prior pottery or yoga experience needed. All materials, meals, and refreshments included.

Artist Bio

Ronaldo Wiltshire is a Barbadian-born ceramic artist and tutor, who recently returned to Barbados to join his family's business, Hamilton’s Pottery , after a decade of running Motions of Clay , a communal pottery studio, in London.

His journey began in his parents’ pottery studio, where he immersed himself in the craft from an early age. By 15, he was actively involved in production at his father’s workshop called Indigenous Potteries.

He studied art and design at Croydon College (2008-2010) before starting a BA (Hons) in Product Design from Ravensbourne.

In 2020, he competed in UK's The Great Pottery Throw Down aired on Channel 4 , a transformative experience that pushed his creative limits and connected him with incredible artists.

Ronaldo has continued to share his expertise globally, performing wheel demos and giving talks at:

  • NCECA Conference, Richmond, Virginia Usa — February 2024

  • Black Artist Retreat, LUMA Arles, France — June 2024

  • Palm Heights Hotel, Grand Cayman — October 2024, (where he conducted a demos and led a week-long pottery retreat.)
